Exploring Longmen Cave for the first time

The Longmen Cave complex, located in Jiaoyitai Village, Lichuan City in western Hubei, lies between Maojiaxia and Guancaixia. It is an important part of the Tenglong Cave Geopark and results from the eastward extension and collapse of the Maojiaxia Cave. The main features of Longmen Cave include the One-Line Sky, Hero Slope, Longmen, Dujiazhai, cave groups, underground rivers, crevices, solitary peaks, and Elephant Trunk Mountain. The canyon is filled with caves within caves, interconnected caves, mountains with caves, dense undercurrents, and numerous rock fissures. On its site, there are numerous karst caves, steep cliffs, and collapsed boulders. This route is one of the classic outdoor hiking trails in mainland China and one of the most beautiful mountain marathon courses in China.
