Huangyaguan

Apr 07, 2025 Huangyaguan|||Huangyaguan is located in the central Taihang Mountains. It is famous for being the largest ordnance base behind enemy lines in North China during the Anti-Japanese War. Now it has become a 4A scenic spot integrating natural scenery and red education. Tickets: CNY 60 (I was pleasantly surprised to receive a free discount because of my Beijing ID card!), and you also need to purchase a transportation package for CNY 138, including three sightseeing buses, one vertical elevator, and one cable car. In addition, there are armored vehicles from Sancha Kou to Huangyaguan, which cost CNY 25 for a one-way trip. Parking: There is a very large parking lot in front of the scenic area. Tour: After entering the scenic area, the first thing that catches your eye is the Military Industry Lake (see P3). Walk along the left side and go up the steps to the sightseeing bus boarding point. Take the sightseeing bus to the vertical elevator (there is no scenery at the transfer point, so you can directly transfer to the elevator). After getting off the elevator, you will arrive at Shantuomiao. Don't rush to take the cable car here. You can enjoy the scenery and take pictures here (see P4 and P12). Then take the cable car to Yushupo (transfer to the second sightseeing bus here, there is no scenery here, so transfer directly). Take the sightseeing bus to Longmenjia Station, and walk from Longmenjia to Sancha Kou via the cliffside path and Hongxin Weng (see P5 and P7). The route is mainly downhill, and it takes about 50 minutes to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. There are two options at Sancha Kou: take an armored vehicle to Huangyaguan for CNY 25 one way, or walk uphill for 30–40 minutes. We took an armored vehicle there and walked back, so we didn't miss any attractions. Walk back to Sancha Kou and continue down to Taihangmen Square. It takes about 30 minutes to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. In fact, I feel that this section of the road is the essence of Huangyaguan (see P8, P9, P10, and P11), so don't miss it. Finally, take the sightseeing bus for the third time at Taihang Square to return to the visitor center, and the day trip ends. The total time is 5 hours and 40 minutes.
