Huangyadong Scenic Area is an AAAA-level tourist attraction. Huangyadong Scenic Area is located in the northern border of Licheng County, Shanxi Province. It is a scenic spot that combines natural scenery and revolutionary traditions. It covers an area of ​​more than 10 square kilometers, with an altitude ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 meters. It is named after a natural cave in the yellow cliffs facing south on one wing. Huangya Cave is famous for its sheer cliffs, majestic and unique peaks, cascading waterfalls, and magically changing clouds. It also has deep caves, dense forests, rare species and clear mountain springs. Huangya Cave is not only a treasure trove of natural scenery, but also an important red tourism attraction. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, this was the largest arsenal in North China’s rear. Zhu De, Peng Dehuai, Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping, Zuo Quan and other older generation proletarian revolutionaries once fought and lived here. The Battle of Huangyadong shocked China and the world, with its brilliant record of 6:1 enemy and our own casualties, setting an unprecedented record in the history of Sino-Japanese combat. In 1985, the scenic area underwent a large-scale renovation and built the "Huangyadong" archway with an inscription by Deng Xiaoping. It is now a national forest park and a patriotism education base in Shanxi Province. Huangyadong Scenic Area consists of the Huangyadong Red Classic Area, Tianwaitian Leisure Experience Area and the Entrance Service Area, with a total area of ​​6.7 square kilometers. The scenic area is dotted with Huangya Cave (materials warehouse), the former site of the arsenal, the martyrs' cemetery, the carved forts and other relics, and is known as the "Anti-Japanese War Museum without walls." It integrates the magnificent scenery of Taihang Mountains, the geological wonders of Zhangshiyan, the red military industry culture, and the historical sites of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The opening hours of Huangyadong Scenic Area are 08:00-15:30 all year round. Ticket prices vary according to different groups of people. The regular ticket price is 60 yuan per person per time.
