Exploring Liaocheng: A Hidden Gem Near Jinan with Food, History, and Scenic Beauty! 🌟🛤️

#discoverchina I just came back from an amazing trip to Liaocheng, a hidden gem near Jinan! 😍 This underrated city has so much to offer, and I was pleasantly surprised by everything I discovered. 🍴 Food to Try: Some local favorites include Guada, 马蹄烧饼 (horse hoof flatbread), 熏鸡 (smoked chicken), and 高唐驴肉 (Donkey meat from Gaotang). Seriously, the food here is delicious and so affordable! 😋 🗺️ 3-Day Itinerary: Day 1: Visited the Water Ancient City and explored the Dongchang Lake Tourist Area. The lake was peaceful and picturesque, perfect for relaxing and taking photos. 📸 Then, I headed to Guangyue Tower, one of China's top 10 iconic towers. The view from the top was breathtaking! 🌆 Day 2: Explored Lion Tower 🦁 and the Chinese Ejiao Museum, which was a fascinating place to learn about traditional Chinese medicine and the history of Ejiao. Visited Dong'e Ejiao City for a deeper dive into the local heritage and culture. Day 3: Spent the day in Wan Garden, which is peaceful and scenic—perfect for unwinding after a few days of sightseeing. 🏙️ Must-See Spots: Water Ancient City: Free to explore, with scenic streets and traditional architecture. Guangyue Tower: 600+ years old, offers an incredible panoramic view of the city. I definitely recommend going up! 🏰 Liaocheng Iron Tower: Another free spot with historical significance—it’s one of China’s six ancient iron towers! Dongguan Street: A long street filled with local food and fun shops—perfect for wandering around and grabbing a bite. 🛍️🍢 Liaocheng truly exceeded my expectations!
