Beautiful Millennium Yao Village

Nangang Millennium Yao Village is located 27 kilometers southwest of Liannan County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, covering an area of 159 acres. It was built in the Song Dynasty and has a history of more than a thousand years. It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot, a Chinese historical and cultural village, and one of the top ten most beautiful ancient villages in Guangdong. Nangang Yao Village has a long history. The reliable and accurate historical origin is still unclear and needs further investigation. But at least it originated in the Song Dynasty and has continued to this day, with a history of more than a thousand years. According to historical records, the ancestors of Liannan Nangang (including other eight rows of Yao people) are believed to be part of the "Changsha Wuling Barbarians" during the Qin and Han Dynasties. The Yao people originally lived north of Dongting Lake. Later, due to wars and discrimination, they gradually migrated to the border areas of Hunan, Guangdong, and Guangxi provinces. During the Sui and Tang, and Song Dynasties, the Yao people gradually migrated to Guangdong Province in multiple routes, with the peak migration occurring during the Ming Dynasty. It is said that the Yao people of the eight rows in Liannan migrated through Daoxian and Jianghua in Hunan.
