Liancheng Guanzhaishan Family Trip｜Perfect for a Weekend Getaway with Kids!

The hiking difficulty is low, the scenery is stunning, and you can easily finish in half a day without rushing～ (Route A is super easy, Route B includes Zhu'an Village and the cableway, which is more physically demanding and time-consuming, so Route A is the first choice for kids!) ⚠️ Transportation Guide High-speed train 🚄: Prioritize Guanzhaishan Station! The next stop is very close to the scenic area, within walking distance～ If you arrive at Guanzhaishan South Station, don’t worry, just take a taxi or bus to the bus station, very convenient! Self-driving 🚗: Navigate directly to Shimen Lake, right next to the scenic area ticket office (corresponding to the south entrance), parking is super cheap, about 1 yuan/hour, self-driving travelers can go for it with confidence! ⚠️ Accommodation Recommendations We stayed at Baixiang Hotel next to the scenic area, the family rooms really hit the kids’ hearts! The kids were super excited as soon as they entered the room～ The key is the family room includes breakfast, afternoon tea, and even tie-dye experience! The kids didn’t want to leave the hotel, and after visiting the scenic area, they could continue having fun～ Actually, Guanzhaishan is very close to the county center, with many accommodation options. If you’re driving, you can stay anywhere in the county without worries! ⚠️ Ticket Tips In the off-season, just buy tickets at the scenic spots～ We originally wanted to take Route B, but the ticket seller kindly suggested Route A since we had three kids, really understanding parents with children! ⛰️ Family-Friendly Hiking Routes 1️⃣ Route B: Guanzhaishan + Shimen Lake tickets + Zhu'an Village + Cableway (including boat ticket and shuttle bus) 🎫150 yuan/person ⏰ Tour time: 5-7 hours First take the boat, then hike, then take the cable car to another mountain, and finally walk down. You need to start early in the morning for this route, or you might miss the cableway in the afternoon. Be cautious when bringing kids! 2️⃣ Route A: Guanzhaishan + Shimen Lake tickets (including boat ticket and shuttle bus) 🎫115 yuan/person ⏰ Tour time: 3-4 hours Highly recommend this route for kids! First take the free scenic area bus to Shimen Lake for a boat tour, then hike. There are basically no steep paths, the whole trip is easy and stress-free, a perfect “lazy route” that both elders and kids can keep up with～ ⚠️ Don’t Miss the Food Liancheng’s local snacks are so many! Dengzhan cake, Boji board, beef soup, soft rice noodles… I tried them all, every one was delicious! Just go into busy shops, you basically won’t go wrong～ For dinner, we ate at Xie Bin Stir-fry near Sijiaojing, ordered Jiumentou, Pig Eight Delicacies, Creek Fish Tofu, and Liancheng White Duck, all amazing! Especially the white duck soup, my kid drank two bowls straight～ (Jiumentou is a bit chewy, kids can chew more) 💡 Family Trip TIPS 1️⃣ Be sure to bring mosquito repellent or insect repellent! There are many mosquitoes in the mountains, don’t let the kids get bitten and itchy～ 2️⃣ There are few restaurants in the scenic area, prepare some snacks and dry food in advance, so kids can eat when hungry～ 3️⃣ Don’t slack on sun protection! Although it’s a natural oxygen bar, many places are very sunny, bring sunscreen and hats～ 4️⃣ Bring fish food, steamed buns, or biscuits for the kids! After the Shimen Lake boat ride, they can feed fish and ducks, kids can play for a long time, and half the snacks will be eaten～ 5️⃣ Buy tickets a few days in advance during peak season/holidays, on regular weekends just buy at the scenic area, online and offline prices are the same～ 6️⃣ Changshou Pavilion has aerial skill performances!
