Mainland Tourism｜Neiqiong Monastery is a must-see when visiting Drepung Monastery in Lhasa

#Mainland Travel Naiqiong Monastery is located at the foot of the mountain of Drepung Monastery in Lhasa. In Tibetan, "Nai" means "place" and "Qiong" means "small", which together means an inconspicuous "small place" under the Drepung Monastery. However, this seemingly ordinary Nechung Temple is actually a shining pearl of Tibetan Buddhism in history and a famous institution of higher learning. Countless lamas with Geshe degrees have been trained here, and it remains an important member of the Tibetan Buddhist Academy. Every year, many Tibetan believers come here to pay homage to Baihar, the chief guardian deity of Tibetan Buddhism enshrined in Neqiong Temple. 📷 The murals in Naiqiong Temple are the highlight of the visit. The murals in the main hall and four corridors are colorful and magnificent, which are very different from the murals in other temples. The contents mostly revolve around guardian deities, subduing demons, hell and suffering, and are extremely worth viewing.
