Wild Hike - Alsophila Valley

Located in Xiba Town, Wutongqiao District, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, the Leshan Xiba Town Alsophila Grand Canyon is about 30 km from Leshan City. It is a natural ecological scenic area featuring Alsophila spinulosa trees. A large number of Alsophila spinulosa trees (tree ferns) are distributed in the canyon, with tall and dense plants, known as the "natural museum of living plant fossils". The canyon has a tranquil, primitive appearance and is said to have been a hidden passage for ancient Shu people's migration, with some ancient road remains in the canyon. It is ideal for hiking and nature exploration. Alsophila spinulosa, this ancient fern, is one of the earliest terrestrial plants on Earth. Having experienced hundreds of millions of years of vicissitudes, it has witnessed the rise and fall of countless species and is known as a "living plant fossil". They stand tall and straight, with thick trunks and huge pinnate leaves stretching out in all directions, like giant green umbrellas, weaving a vibrant green world. Walking along the winding paths in the canyon, the gurgling sound of water can be heard, like a beautiful movement played by nature. The streams and the Alsophila spinulosa trees on the banks complement each other, forming a picturesque scenery. In addition to the unique plant landscape and clear streams, there are also spectacular canyon landforms. The peaks on both sides of the canyon are steep and rugged, with strange rocks and varied shapes, lifelike. Alsophila Valley is very suitable for beginner hikers, the whole journey is about 3-5 km, along the way you can observe Alsophila spinulosa, wild animals and plants. In the early morning or after rain, when the fog is thick, the canyon has rich layers of light and shadow, making it easy to take great photos. Currently, the ticket is 10 yuan, open all day.
