Price Hike Makes Hampton by Hilton Less Appealing

I had stayed at the Hampton by Hilton in Leeds a year or so ago since it's conveniently located for an overnight visit to the Leeds arena and it provided good value and parking. So, when we planned to visit the Arena again this year, I booked it once more. Perhaps it was the lack of trains, a concert at the arena, or general price hikes over the past year, but it seemed all 'budget' hotels had doubled their rates. With no better options, I booked reluctantly, but it's no longer in the 'budget' range. The rooms are nice, clean, and have all the amenities you'd want, but I don't love being in a somewhat unsafe-feeling area at night. Plus, I noticed a '24 hour car park for £5' directly opposite, making the hotel's £20 parking fee seem steep. The breakfast options were disappointing, lacking both cooked and continental choices. Overall, a decent stay, but not worth the money. Next time, I'll consider a more premium hotel in a better area, or even the dreaded Airbnb for the same price.
