Just arrived in Langkawi and checked into a fairyland in the tropical rainforest 🌴 The Datai Langkawi Hotel is literally my dream hotel! The hotel is located at Datai Bay on the northwest corner of Langkawi, a 40-minute drive from the airport. You start enjoying tropical scenery on the way from the airport. The entire area is listed as a UNESCO Geopark, with maximum privacy, and even the beach is exclusively for the hotel! The coolest part is that all the villas are hidden among the rainforest canopy, where you can see long-tailed macaques and hornbills passing by the balcony anytime 🐒 ✨ Design highlights that wow • The rooms are a blend of traditional Malay stilt houses and modern design, each with a viewing terrace and an extra-large bathtub • The must-visit 50-meter infinity pool looks like it’s floating on the sea, and at dusk you can capture magical scenes of the pool reflecting the fiery clouds • The treetop spa rooms hidden in the rainforest canopy let you listen to birdsong while getting a massage, so healing you might fall asleep 🍽️ Foodies will be thrilled For breakfast, you must try fresh coconut with pandan leaf toasted bread! The main restaurant, Gulai House, is a 20-year-old classic Thai restaurant, where the shrimp in the tom yum soup is bigger than the spoon. The biggest surprise is the seafood BBQ by the beach, with candlelight and the sound of waves, served in coconut shells~ 🎮 So much fun you won’t want to leave • Free rainforest hikes three times a week, with guides introducing edible wild spices • Private beach with transparent kayaks, just 5 minutes paddling to coral reef snorkeling • Kids’ club with dedicated caretakers, so parents can relax and enjoy couples’ spa treatments 💡 My personal tips 1. When booking a villa, definitely choose a rainforest view room; the sea view rooms get strong afternoon sun 2. Traditional Malay dance performances are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the restaurant, remember to reserve a seat near the stage 3. For anniversaries, book a beach dinner in advance by email, the hotel will set up a super dreamy flower path From the moment I checked in, I felt like a rainforest princess.
