Lost in time, eternal monastery surrounded by mountains

#postandearn #ladakh #leh #lehladakh #india Thiksey monastery is extremely impressive and a must visit in Ladakh. I went there by public transportation from Leh. First you have to catch a small bus to Choglamsar and from there a shared taxi to Thiksey monastery. It is a bit confusing but locals are helpful and will point put where to get in and out. The monastery is huge and it took me over 3 hours of slowly walking and exploring. It has lots of passages and rooftop access at different levels. Photography inside monastery rooms isn't allowed but tourists still can go inside and see the interiors. Additional bonus were blooming apricot trees 😍 That happened in mid April.
