Japan has always been my dream destination. Among all the places I heard about growing up, Kyoto stood out—not just as a famous spot in Japan but as a world-renowned city rich in history and culture. So, when I landed my dream job, I decided to celebrate by fulfilling another dream: visiting Kyoto. The Kyoto I experienced was exactly as I had imagined—the historical landmarks, the well-known tourist attractions, but most of all, the serenity. I truly loved the quiet moments the city offered. When I mention this, many people are surprised, questioning how Kyoto—often overwhelmed by overtourism—could be associated with tranquility. Yes, I visited the most popular sites, navigated crowds, waited in line at a famous café, and even tried the Jujutsu Event Coffee. But beyond the tourist hotspots, I spent most of my time wandering Kyoto’s peaceful, hidden streets—watching trains pass by, unwinding at quiet cafés, and simply observing the rhythm of daily life.
