Walk along the aqueduct at Nanzen-ji in Kyoto ⛩️🇯🇵

Located at the end of Philosopher’s Walk, a beautiful pathway surrounded by lush greenery, is Nanzen-ji temple. It is an elegant and solemn temple with ancient buildings, where you can feel the charm of traditional Japanese architecture. 🎫 Entrance to the temple grounds is free but you can buy tickets for individual attractions inside, ranging from 400 to 600 yen each. There is a large aqueduct that passes through the temple grounds. It is part of a canal system constructed to bring water from Lake Biwa to Kyoto. Here there are many archways where, if you find the right timing with no one else around, you can take a really cool photo! 📸 You can even walk up the steps to the top of the aqueduct and walk along it for a few hundred metres. At the end, there is a wonderful view of Kyoto from high up in the hills. It is recommended to visit in spring or autumn time to see the cherry blossoms or maple leaves in full bloom.
