Kunming Yanlong Temple with Jiangnan Style

Yanlong Temple is located on Baita Road in Kunming, and together with the nearby Zhenqing Temple and Dulei Mansion, it forms the ancient architectural complex in Kunming with the most preserved Ming and Qing architecture and relatively complete preservation. Yanlong Temple was built in the 7th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1881) and was built by Yunnan salt merchants. It is mainly used for worshiping salt industry gods and holding industry gatherings. After its completion, Yanlong Temple has always played an important role in the development of the salt industry in Kunming. Yanlong Temple enshrines the Three Emperors, namely Emperor Xuanyuan, Emperor Fuxi, and Emperor Shennong. From the past to the present, Yanlong Temple has shouldered the important task of spreading traditional Chinese culture. Yanlong Temple includes a patio, a main hall, and an ancient theater stage. The architecture of Yanlong Temple is simple and exquisite, and the wood carvings are delicate. In particular, the architectural style of the ancient theater stage has the charm of Jiangnan, which is different from other ancient buildings in Kunming.
