Yunnan Dongchuan Red Soil | God's Forgotten Palette...

The red soil is located in the northeast of Kunming City, under the jurisdiction of Hongtudi Town, Dongchuan District, Kunming City. The journey from Kunming to the center of the scenic spot is about 250 kilometers by car, and the main scenic spots are between 1800 and 2600 meters above sea level. Due to the red soil developed under the high temperature and abundant rainfall in Yunnan Dongchuan, this soil is rich in iron and aluminum, low in organic matter, acidic, and sticky. This area of nearly 100 square kilometers is the most concentrated, typical and characteristic red soil on the Yunnan Red Soil Plateau. With the blue sky, white clouds and ever-changing light, the red soil forms a magnificent landscape. 📷Shooting Tips: 1. Recommended shooting locations: Luoxia Valley Scenic Area, Luosiwan, Damakan, Duoyishu Observation Deck (south to north view), Longlinggang surrounding slopes (outside the regular scenic area, my exclusive recommendation hidden area, the first picture is the red soil slope north of Longlinggang); 2. From a seasonal perspective, I personally think that summer and winter are the most colorful. In winter, the exposed red soil area is the largest (if it snows, it will be even more perfect, but I haven't encountered it). In summer, due to the planting of many crops, the colors and content of the land will be very rich; 3. The overall route of the red soil shooting location is "Y" shaped, the lower end of the "Y" (i.e. the south side of Luosiwan) is the most common entry and exit direction, the upper left (i.e. the northwest side of Damakan) is the end of the location (of course, you can also continue to the northwest direction to Jiazi Snow Mountain), the upper right (i.e. the northeast side of Luoxia Valley Scenic Area) is the road leading to Dongchuan City, and there are also some small village scenes surrounded by red soil around the mountain road from Luoxia Valley to Dongchuan City. 🚗Transportation: Self-driving is recommended (although there are buses from Kunming to the scenic spot, transportation within the scenic spot is extremely inconvenient). It takes about 2 hours from Kunming city center and about half an hour from Dongchuan city center. The recommended shooting locations can be found in the navigation software. 🏠Accommodation: There are many accommodation options in Luosiwan (Lepu Ao) and Luoxia Valley. As Kunming city center or Dongchuan city center are not far from the scenic spot, you can also choose not to stay in the scenic spot. 🎫Tickets: Luoxia Valley entrance fee 68 yuan (online platform booking usually has discounts), other areas do not require tickets (but many farm parking areas will charge parking fees).
