Kunming! I found an affordable hotel

After booking the hotel in advance for the New Year's visit to Kunming, I chose the Atour Light Hotel for its reasonable price, nearby subway, and business district. (I was afraid of not finding food during the New Year or having trouble hailing a taxi) The bedside sockets and lighting are consistently satisfying, and the room even has a mini-fridge, a shower with strong water pressure and sufficient temperature, so no issues with the hardware. The room's sound insulation is average; you can hear conversations in the hallway, but it's mostly quiet. The hotel is quite new, having been refurbished and reopened at the end of 2023. It's a small courtyard with two low-rise buildings, and parking in the courtyard is very safe. I booked two rooms for a total of five nights. When I added the second room, only the smallest room was at a suitable price. Just before departure, I found out the hotel had upgraded us to the same room type, for which I'm thankful. The hotel breakfast is also decent, not as lavish as the one in Guiyang, but it passes. In terms of service, you can feel that the attitude is good, but since it's newly opened, there are many areas for improvement. For the breakfast takeaway, they only provided the box without chopsticks. I arrived at the hotel at 7 pm and was informed that the two reserved twin rooms were in two different buildings. To be on the same floor, I had to switch one to a double bed. I agreed to the change for one night, requesting to switch back to twin beds the next night. The switch was made the next day, but before that, they called to ask if I could let a family with children keep the twin room and stay in a double bed for another night. I refused, but it still made me a bit uncomfortable, as I had never been asked this before. The hotel is relatively small, with seven rooms on one floor of the annex building, four of which are at the end, making it hard to meet requests for non-end rooms. Overall, the hotel is quite good, and I will come back in the future. It's conveniently close to the South Asia Style area, and I managed to have dinner around 7 or 8 pm on the first day of the New Year. The Nianzi Qiao Guo Mixian had too much pepper in the soup base, and the Yulan slices had a taste of alcohol, which I don't highly recommend. The Hunan cuisine Lanxiangzi stir-fried beef was delicious. I recommend a mushroom soup called Lao Jiang Chuan Stone Pot Fish Mushroom Soup (Baiyun Store), which is super tasty! Although it's a bit far, the subway can take you directly there. The soup is thick and very fresh, the mushrooms are delicious, and even the chicken in the soup base is tender and tasty, making me realize that the mushroom soups I had in the past were just watery stuff. The key is that they don't close for the New Year, so there's no need to queue up when there are fewer people. ❤Recommended reasons: . ✅ The location is particularly great, with the subway station right outside the door! No more than five meters! It's super convenient to go out and play, and there's a parking lot downstairs, which is also very convenient for self-driving. Next to the building is the Cuihu Shopping Center, with a cinema, restaurants, and everything! There's also a particularly delicious local Yunnan specialty dish🍄 . ✅ I thought I had walked into an Instagram blogger's home! The room decoration is particularly nice and warm! It's like your own little home. There's a bay window next to the floor-to-ceiling window, with a tea table and green plants! It's super photogenic. A room for 154 yuan is also very well equipped! The giant screen projection is very clear, all set up👌just turn it on to watch. There's also a double bathtub! After playing outside all day, you can come back and take a bath. 🌟Highlights: · The hotel's location is excellent, just downstairs to Nanping Street, Nanqiang Street, and across the road to Jinma Biji Square, Qiaoxiang Garden. It's a 7-minute walk to Kunming Old Street and the subway entrance🚇, which is convenient for traveling to Dian Lake. The room is very comfortable👏with an Instagram-style creamy design, clean, tidy, and comfortable. ✅ The whole house is equipped with smart facilities, including Xiaodu smart voice, projector, bathtub, smart toilet, refrigerator, and they also provide coffee, fruit tea bags, two free bottles of Coke or Sprite every day, bath bags, and disposable toilet seat covers! . The facilities are very complete! There's a self-service laundry on the 6th floor with a drying function, and they provide an ironing machine! The front desk lady is very nice, even giving away fresh flower cakes, making for a very good experience.
