Only available in Udon Thani from December to February, and only in the morning when the lotus flowers🪷 are in bloom! We went to see this spectacular view on a two-day, one-night trip from Bangkok! A friend who had been there recommended it to me, saying it was great! But my husband said it was just the lotus flowers? I couldn't go while I was in Thailand, so this trip was a dream come true. My family doesn't like getting up early, so we left the hotel at 6am. We arrived at Nong Han Lake at about 6:40am. Just in time for sunrise. It's said that it's fantastic and beautiful to go before sunrise, so it might be better to leave at 5am in that case. I heard it was very cold, but it was fine after sunrise. That said, it's better to prepare for the cold. I've also posted about the hotels and restaurants we stayed at, so I hope it will be helpful. I basically decided based on Pukuko's blog. ⚫︎ Kao Piak Sen is displayed as Kao Piak Udon on Google Maps. I personally highly recommend this place. The udon-like Kao Piak is also popular with the 👧. The rice with sticky rice and 🌽 was also a hit with the kids! If you are planning to go there, please do so. I tagged each place on Instagram, but the information is thin. There are many Vietnamese immigrants and Laos is nearby, so the food influenced by those countries is delicious and easy on the wallet😆 ⚫︎Transportation🚗 You can use Grab to get around. I recommend chartering a car to Talay Padaeng. The average price is 1000-1500THB. If you are coming from Japan, you may be worried because it is a rural area in Thailand, but I think you can manage with Grab and chartering a car even if you are not on a tour. My impression after going there was that I had imagined there would be more lotus flowers🪷 in bloom, but it wasn't quite there. But it was still beautiful enough.
