Get on the boat before dawn and watch the sunrise on the boat ♡ The lake surface shining orange in the morning glow is a wonderful sight. I chartered a car from The Pannarai Hotel, which I booked on Trip.com, so I was able to get there comfortably. 1400 baht (round trip transfer, including waiting time while on the boat) To make it cheaper, you can use Bolt, but it depends on the timing whether you can match it in the early morning hours of 5am. The boat was 500 baht for 6 people and 300 baht for 2 people. It seems that 2-seater boats are not available during peak season. I recommend leaving at 6:30. It is a 1-hour charter, so if the 6:30 boat leaves, you will have to wait until 7:30.
