Kuching longboat is the hallmark of Kuching. It is one of the best Ice creams Gula Apong spots in Kuching. It is soft served ice cream (texture felt like yoghurt) drizzled with Gula Apong and topped with Corn Flakes or Peanuts. Yum Yum! Gula Apong is another type of palm sugar and is a good substitute for coconut sugar or Gula Melaka. Gula Apong is made by collecting juices from a type of mangrove palm called nipah palm or “Atap” in Malay. The ice cream cost about RM 2.20 a cup, and the ice cream itself is not that sweet but accompanied with Gula Apong, it balances the flavour.
