Spontaneous Island Escape: 1 Week in Koh Samet 🏝

#adventuremoments Our one-week trip to Koh Samet was completely spur of the moment — and sometimes those are the best adventures! Just a few hours from Bangkok, this little island is the perfect quick escape with turquoise waters, soft white sand, and a relaxed vibe. Getting There From Bangkok, you can book a minibus + ferry transfer that leaves from Ekkamai Station (we took the 10:30 am and arrived by 3 pm). Book on 12togo. On the way back, you can buy a regular ferry ticket at the pier for 60 THB, or opt for a fast ferry (200 THB) if you want to save time. Minibuses and private transfers back to Bangkok are also available. When we arrived, we got total "Lost"(the series) vibes from the island. Where We Stayed We chose Wong Due Beach, a peaceful stretch with a laid-back vibe. Our stay at Greenplace – Samed Seahorse was rustic and simple, with bungalows and rooms available. If you prefer more comfort, there are plenty of boutique hotels and luxury resorts scattered across the island. Search 'Koh Samet' on Trip.com for great deals. Food & Dining The island leans towards Thai cuisine and fresh seafood — grilled fish, spicy salads, and beachside barbecues are the highlights. Off-season, Koh Samet feels hidden and untouched, making meals by the sea even more special. Things to Do: Relax on Ao Wong Duean and other nearby beaches. Rent a scooter or take a songthaew to explore different coves. #beachhopping Snorkel or join a boat trip to nearby islands. Catch a fire show at night — a local tradition on many beaches. Hike into the Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park for nature trails and viewpoints. Why Koh Samet? Unlike some busier Thai islands, Koh Samet has a calm charm, especially in the off-season. Think white sands, turquoise waters, and a hidden-island atmosphere — perfect for unwinding or a last-minute getaway adventure. #islandlife #thailand #kohsamet #seascapes #familytravel #beachlife #travel
