🇯🇵 [Kochi Prefecture] The symbol of Kochi! Kochi Castle 🏯 (^^) Hirayamajiro is a castle with a three-story, six-storey tower. Construction began in 1601 by Yamauchi Kazutoyo, the first lord of the Tosa domain. It was completed in 1611 during the time of the second lord, Tadayoshi. It was later burned down, but was rebuilt in 1753. The tower, Tsumemon, the east and west Tamon Yagura, and Kurogane Gate are all designated as important cultural properties. The main castle with the tower is the only one in the country that still has the tower, palace, and other buildings as a set.
