If you have time, visit the adjacent history museum to learn more about Kochi. 🚶🏽‍♀️ What to do 1⃣️ Visit Kochi Castle, one of Japan's National Treasures. It is one of only 12 castle towers remaining from the Edo period. Kochi Castle is the only castle where the Honmaru Palace and the castle tower are connected, making it a precious relic. The view from the castle tower and the tropical Tosa wind create a charming atmosphere, evoking a sense of historical romance from the Edo period to the present. 2⃣️ Except for the areas near the Otemon and iron gates, most of Kochi Castle's stone walls were built using the "Tanada" method. This construction method is said to provide excellent drainage and durability. 3⃣️ In 2014, Kochi Castle was designated as one of Japan's top three night castles. ⚠️ Other 1⃣️ You can get a stamp at the entrance. Inquire at the counter for the 100 Famous Japanese Castles stamp. You can also purchase a castle visit commemorative stamp at the counter. Don't miss out if you're a collector; they're beautiful! 2⃣️ Outside the castle tower, from the base to the top, there are some stalls, small shops, and restrooms. 3⃣️ Shoes must be removed before entering the castle tower.
