A leisurely trip along the Rhine (V) - Koblenz, a World Heritage Site

The middle section of the Rhine River extends roughly from Koblenz to Bingen, with a total length of about 65 kilometers. Koblenz is located at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. It is an ancient Roman town and was the residence of the Frankish royal family in the sixth century AD. It is an important part of the World Cultural Heritage in the Upper Middle Rhine region. It was famous for its business in its early days. Visitors to the Rhine River in Germany usually stop in Koblenz to visit the Deutsches Eck (also known as the German Corner). It starts at the bronze statue of Emperor William the Great at the German Corner. (Figure 1) It is said that there are as many as 28 ancient castles of various types along this river basin! These medieval towns and castles, dotted among green mountains and clear waters, undoubtedly add the finishing touch to this world cultural heritage. I was reminded of the TV series "Game of Thrones", which vividly depicts the struggles among kings and nobles in the Middle Ages; and now, it has become a "favorite place" for tourists and photography enthusiasts from all over the world!
