Travel to Rayong...following the footsteps of Nirat Muang Klaeng

The Sunthorn Phu Monument is a monument built to commemorate the great poet of the Rattanakosin period, Phra Sunthorn Wohan (Phu), or commonly known as Sunthorn Phu. It is located on the Klaeng-Laem Mae Phim route in Tambon Kram, Amphoe Klaeng, Rayong Province, which is believed to be the birthplace of Sunthorn Phu's father. He visited this place when he was young and wrote Nirat Mueang Klaeng. The monument area has a statue of Sunthorn Phu in the center on a high hill. Below is a pond with three cast sculptures of characters from Sunthorn Phu's classic literature, Phra Aphai Mani: Phra Aphai Mani, Nang Phisuea Samut, and Nang Nguek.
