And it was in this light and shadow that I embarked on my journey to the Kathmandu Hilton. The hotel's special car arrived on time. What came into view was an Avatr luxury smart cabin electric car. The smooth lines of the car body reflected the blue sky of Kathmandu. The door slowly opened, and the futuristic smart cabin gave me a sense of ceremony. Outside the car window, the city scenery where ancient and modern are intertwined passed by one by one, the dusty streets, the temples with a strong religious atmosphere, the pedestrians coming and going, everything seemed slow and quiet. A ceremonial welcome The moment I got off the bus, I was greeted with a warm and sincere smile. The staff at the Kathmandu Hilton Hotel put their hands together and bowed their heads slightly, which is the traditional Nepali way of greeting. A Khada was gently placed on my shoulders, symbolizing blessing and respect. At the same time, a bracelet made of beads in five colors was tied around my wrist - red, white, yellow, blue and green, symbolizing the five elements: fire, water, earth, wind and space. This is not only a welcome, but more like the establishment of a sense of belonging, as if from this moment on, I have become part of this land. The air in the hotel is filled with a faint scent of sandalwood, and the soft background music is interwoven with traditional Nepalese melodies, as if paving a path for travelers to relax their minds. Warm light in the room The elevator door slowly opened, and the moment I stepped into the room, I felt just the right amount of warmth. In front of the floor-to-ceiling window, the whole Kathmandu spreads out before your eyes, with mountains in the distance rolling and shrouded in clouds and mist, like a painting. I raised my hand and pushed open the window, and a fresh air with the scent of the mountains blew in my face, mixed with a faint woody fragrance, which made me relax. The room is decorated in warm and calm tones. The soft bed looks like a cloud, and you can even feel the fluffy touch of the duvet when you get close. I made a cup of hot tea, leaned against the window, and quietly enjoyed the scenery outside. At this moment, the world seems to slow down, and time becomes soft in this gentle atmosphere. Asa All-Day Dining Restaurant in Chenguangli The next morning, the sunlight shone through the gauze curtains, bringing with it the fresh scent of morning mist. The breakfast at Asa All-Day Restaurant is full of surprises - the hand-baked croissants are golden and crispy, the freshly fried Nepalese bread is fragrant, and served with homemade yogurt and honey, with rich taste. There are also various Asian and Western dishes, each of which is mouth-watering. I took a cup of freshly ground coffee and found a seat by the window. Outside the glass window, the early morning in Kathmandu is still a little hazy. Pedestrians on the streets are starting to get busy. Occasionally, you can see women in red saris carrying fresh garlands walking slowly past the temple gate. The scene is as beautiful as a long shot in a movie. Rooftop pool: a dream moment on the skyline The most amazing thing about the hotel is the rooftop swimming pool. As I stepped onto the terrace, the entire city skyline came into view. At sunrise, the morning light shines through the clouds onto the outline of the Himalayas, and the golden halo slowly spreads; at sunset, the orange-red afterglow fills the entire sky, and the reflection on the water surface shimmers, as if it were coated with a layer of gold foil. Standing here, the world seems to stand still and time slows down. There is a SPA next to the pool. I chose the hotel's facial treatment. My friend told me that this is the best facial treatment in Nepal and it made me feel refreshed. Lava Box in the afternoon: a quiet time with a cup of Chinese tea In the afternoon, I came to the hotel's Lava Box, ordered a cup of Chinese tea, and chose a seat by the window to sit quietly. The sunlight cast mottled shadows through the glass windows, the air was filled with the warm fragrance of tea, the streets outside the window were still busy, but this side of the world was peaceful. The moment the tea enters your mouth, it seems as if time has slowed down. At this moment, I am no longer a traveler, but just a passer-by who quietly feels the flow of the world. Hava Restaurant: A Mediterranean feast for the taste buds For dinner, I chose the newly opened Hava restaurant, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant is elegantly decorated, candlelight flickers on the tables, and the air is filled with the aroma of roasted herbs and fresh olive oil. The charcoal-grilled seafood is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, paired with handmade pasta, and every bite has a warm taste like sunshine. On this exotic night, food becomes a language that connects memories and continues the beauty of the journey. Eid al-Fitr celebrations On my last night at the Kathmandu Hilton, it was the Eid feast and the atmosphere in the hotel was filled with joy and celebration. The hall was filled with the rich aroma of spices and baking. The soft sounds of musical instruments echoed in the air. Two female musicians in gorgeous saris were playing traditional melodies. Their dresses shimmered slightly in the lights, as if the whole night was shrouded in an exotic dream. On the buffet table, there is a dazzling array of festive delicacies from India and Nepal, including colorful curries, charcoal-grilled meats, crispy fried foods, and sweet and delicious festive desserts, which are dazzling. I sip on a glass of the local specialty drink, which has a faint scent of rose and watermelon, while my tongue is immersed in the rich and smooth Haleem - a meat and bean porridge that is slow-cooked until it is as creamy and smooth, with the fragrance of cinnamon and cardamom, warming and satisfying. The guests sat around the long table, exchanging smiles and blessings with each other. The joyful words of "Happy Eid al-Fitr" flowed in the air. At this moment, strangers became as friendly as old friends. Outside the window, the night of Kathmandu is deep, and the twinkling lights reflect the tranquility of this ancient city.
