Kathmandu Durbar Square

Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the most historically and culturally valuable attractions in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and is also a World Cultural Heritage recognized by UNESCO. "Durbar" means "royal palace". The square was once the site of the royal palace of the Malla dynasty and the Shah dynasty of Nepal, witnessing centuries of royal history of Nepal. Most of the buildings on the square were built between the 16th and 19th centuries, combining traditional Newari architectural style with Buddhist and Hindu culture.
