#castle #ruins 🏰 The ruins of Löwenburg Castle are located above Wilhelmshöhe Castle, in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe. From a distance, it looks like a romantic knight's castle of the Middle Ages. However, it was only built between 1793 and 1801 as the "ancestral castle" of Landgrave Wilhelm IX. von Hesse-Kassel, later Elector Wilhelm I.
