Kashihara Shrine is located in Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture. Emperor Jimmu, the first emperor of Japan, ascended to the throne at Kashihara Palace. Kashihara Shrine was founded in 1890 to enshrine Emperor Jimmu and his empress, Himetataraisuzuhime-no-mikoto. It has an outer worship hall, and behind that are the inner worship hall, offering hall, and main hall! Behind the worship hall is Mount Unebi. You can aim for the peak, and there is a trailhead at the north approach. After passing through the north approach, a 15-minute walk away is the tomb of Emperor Jimmu.
