Kashihara Shrine

This is a large shrine located in Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture. In fact, its history of construction is relatively recent, dating back to the Meiji Period. However, its origins date back to the distant past, to Emperor Jimmu, the first emperor of Japan. A petition from private citizens was filed on the site where Emperor Jimmu's palace is said to have stood, and Emperor Meiji, inspired by this petition, founded the shrine.
