The temple of Nakhon Chum

When the Ping River changed direction, eroding the city walls of Nakhon Chum collapsed, the city was moved to the opposite bank, Kamphaeng Phet. Until Wat Phra Borommathat Nakhon Chum became a deserted temple. Later, a Karen timber trader restored the pagoda by building a cover over the original rice-bunch-shaped pagoda. The renovation continued until the pagoda was transformed into a Thai-Mon style, painted gold, similar to the Shwedagon Pagoda.
