The "Hyobaku Festival" is a seasonal winter event in Sounkyo Onsen, Hokkaido's northern region. The approximately 10,000 square meter venue, which uses the riverbed of the Ishikari River, features more than 30 ice sculptures of various sizes, a 13m-tall icehouse, a hyobaku shrine, an ice slide, ice climbing, and other ice objects and events that both adults and children can enjoy.
