Tokyo Suburban Tour – Kamakura and Enoshima Beach Trip

If you're not in a rush to travel or shop in Tokyo, you can choose to explore the suburbs around Tokyo. Actually, there are many beautiful places around Tokyo, such as Karuizawa, Kawagoe, or Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, all of which are worth visiting. I can introduce them one by one in the future. This time, I will introduce one of my favorite places—Kamakura and Enoshima. I took the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line from Shibuya Station in Tokyo to Kamakura, and the travel time was only an hour and ten minutes. Upon arrival, I went to Komachi Street in Kamakura to stroll and eat. They have standing wagyu sushi, and because it's near the seaside, there are also many sashimi sushi shops and various desserts. There are also many unique shops here that are worth checking out. Next, we took the Enoden to Enoshima for a visit. On the Enoden train, besides experiencing the charm of the old train, you can also see beautiful sea views along the way. Although Enoshima is a small island, there are many places to visit on the island. We bought a ticket package for the escalator, lighthouse, garden, and cave, which cost only 1,100 yen. We took the escalator up and saw a temple along the way. There happened to be a festival rehearsal that day, which was very special. I didn't expect the lighthouse to be small, but you can see a wider sea view and seaside buildings from Enoshima. Finally, we walked down the stairs to the cave at the other end of Enoshima. Before entering the cave, you will find many people playing on the rocks by the shore, which is very relaxing. Inside the cave, everyone can take a candle for free to explore, giving a sense of adventure. Of course, in the hot summer, the cave is a great place to cool off, but you have to walk back and forth, climb to the top of the island, and then return, so it's best to find a restaurant to sit down, have a drink, and rest when you come back. This time, we didn't get off the Enoden midway to explore, so I hope to have the opportunity to go again.
