When the industrial-style vintage little train slowly arrives, it feels like instantly traveling back to the last century. And the starting point of this wonderful journey—Kaiyuan Railway Station—is itself a vivid history book. ⭐ Kaiyuan Station is located on Dongfeng Road, Kaiyuan City, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It was built in 1909 and was originally called Amizhou Station. It is the only second-class station on the Yunnan section of the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway and holds a crucial position on the railway. In 2003, due to severe aging of the Kunhe Railway line, Kaiyuan Station stopped passenger services and only handled freight. It was not until 2018, relying on the existing meter-gauge railway, that it was transformed into a north-south rail transit shuttle train, becoming the sightseeing little train it is today. ⭐ The Kaiyuan little train runs a total length of 11.6 kilometers, leisurely shuttling between the city and nature.
