Historic Kailua Kona - Island of Hawaii

#bucketlistreboot At first Kailua-Kona might seem like a sleepy little costal village but there is still so much to see and do there. We loved the close proximity of everything and the laid back friendly nature of everyone we spoke to. It was a long awaited stop on our Hawaiian bucket list. Getting There - Less than an hours flight from Honolulu. Attractions - Kona Coast cruises, whale watching and turtle tours. Within range of Hawaiis active volcanoes. Hotels - Royal Kona Hotel or Marriott’s King Kamehameha’s Resort are both highly recommended. Food & Restaurants - HUMPY’s is a great spot for dining with the added bonus of seeing a fantastic sunset. Some other great dining options include Papa Kona’s, Kai eats and drinks, Huggo’s and Thai Rin. So many different cuisines available in that costal town, you will surely find something for everyone. Shopping - Kona Inn shopping village has a great range of souvenir, jewellery and novelty shops. There is also a Walmart, Ross dress for less and a number of other chain stores in east walking distance of the Main Street.
