Many are planning a trip to Jiuzhai Valley in western Sichuan, and March is indeed a great time to visit, with blooming flowers and fewer crowds. However, first-time visitors should plan carefully to avoid pitfalls! Here's a helpful guide based on my experience: Jiuzhai Valley Weather and Outfit: March Weather: Around 5-15°C (41-59°F), with significant temperature differences between day and night. Mostly sunny days with occasional rain. Outfit: Long-sleeved T-shirts, light jackets, sweaters, and sneakers are recommended for comfortable and warm exploration. Travel Tips: Before April, Jiuzhai Valley is in its off-season, with fewer tourists and more affordable hotel and flight prices, offering great value. During this time, Jiuzhai Valley boasts abundant, crystal-clear waters, perfect for capturing stunning photos. Don't miss it! Tips for First-Time Visitors: Avoid roadside "cheap day trips"—they're often scams! Sightseeing buses are available within the scenic area, but queues can be long during peak hours. Arrive early or visit during off-peak times. If visiting Huanglong, assess your physical condition beforehand, as its high altitude can cause altitude sickness. Bring snacks! Food inside Jiuzhai Valley is expensive; pack your own snacks and water. Don't be fooled by online photos! In April, Jiuzhai Valley's water levels are at their lowest, with the Five Flower Lake reduced to a small puddle. However, Mirror Lake and Rhinoceros Lake offer breathtaking reflections, especially before 8 am when there are fewer people and less wind. Choose the right seat on the sightseeing bus! Sit on the left side from the entrance to Long Lake (for views of the primeval forest), and on the right from Long Lake to Nuorilang (for snow mountain reflections). For stunning road shots on your way out in the afternoon, sit in the last row facing backward. Jiuzhai Valley is Y-shaped. Long Lake in the left branch is still frozen, while Rhinoceros Lake and Reed Lake in the right branch have blooming peach blossoms around March 12th. It's recommended to take the sightseeing bus directly to Arrow Bamboo Lake in the right branch and walk to the Five Flower Lake area.
