Longwo Temple Grottoes are located in Xiaolongwo Village, Jingxing County, Hebei Province, next to National Highway 307. This is the 42nd grotto I have visited, and it is currently a protected site in Hebei Province. The small size of Longwo Temple Grottoes made me hesitate to add it to my list of grottoes, but the eaves embedded in the mountain deeply attracted me, which I have not seen in other grottoes. The statues in the grottoes are almost all carved in niches, with a total of 14 niches and 47 statues of various sizes, the largest of which is more than 1 meter high and the smallest about 0.3 meters. There are five large niches, arranged in a staggered pattern, four of which are carved with Buddha statues and the other with a Bodhisattva statue. The four Buddha statues are all in a cross-legged sitting position on a lotus seat. The Buddha statues have dignified and kind faces and simple and unadorned clothing. They are draped in thin cassocks, with their chests and shoulders exposed. The Bodhisattva statue wears a crown and a cassock decorated with a necklace, with the left leg bent, the left hand on the ground, the right leg raised, and the right arm straightened and placed on the right knee. This statue is the most stunning in the entire grotto.
