Xishuangbanna Prajna Temple Travel Guide, less crowded with beautiful scenery, better than pictures, and it's free

Taking advantage of the off-peak travel season, I stayed in Xishuangbanna for a week and discovered several niche treasure spots. I highly recommend Prajna Temple, which is less crowded, has beautiful scenery that exceeds expectations, and is free of charge. Moreover, it is only 7 kilometers away from the city center's Splashing Water Square, a 20-minute taxi ride away. Prajna Temple was established in 833 BC and is said to enshrine 2 strands of Buddha's hair and 4 relics. It is one of the ancient famous temples in the Xishuangbanna region. Against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds, the temple is pure white, shimmering with silver light, sacred and pure. ⭐ Prajna, pronounced bō rě, means ultimate wisdom, the wisdom of discernment, specifically referring to the wisdom of recognizing all things and the origin of everything. My personal understanding is the great wisdom that sees through the rules and essence of the human world. 🚗 Address & Transportation Just set your destination to 'Prajna Temple' and take a taxi there. ⏰ Opening Hours 9:00-18:30 🕰️ Visiting Time The main structure is a pagoda, and the Buddha hall is small with only one floor. It takes about 1~2 hours to visit and check in. It is only 4 kilometers away from Gasa Airport and not far from the high-speed rail station. It is recommended to visit on the first or last day. The evening is even better, as the silver pagoda is tinged with the color of the sunset, shining with golden light, presenting a different scene. 🙏🏻 Praying and Worship Join your hands and walk clockwise around the pagoda to eliminate karmic obstacles and pray for peace and smoothness. There are also incense and oil lamps for sale at the entrance for those who wish to pray. 📸 Photo Tips Approach the green plant wall and use the leaves as a foreground for more artistic shots. Not just the full view, try to capture more details of the pagoda, the shimmering silver light adds to the atmosphere. ⚠️ Precautions Pay attention to dress neatly in the temple, no tank tops, tube tops, shorts, or short skirts are allowed. If you take off your coat and expose yourself for photos inside the temple and are caught by surveillance, you will be warned by loudspeaker. I have seen several girls socially die on the spot. Also, commercial portraits, wedding photos, and intimate couple photos are not allowed, nor is jumping around for photos. There are not many shaded areas inside the temple, only a few public seats near the green plants, so remember to take precautions against sunburn and mosquitoes.
