Jingdezhen

I arrived in Jingdezhen on the afternoon of March 17 and checked in to the Fortune Hotel. That evening, I strolled through the porcelain market. The market was huge, and every vendor's stall was filled with a dazzling array of porcelain. It truly lives up to its reputation as the "Porcelain Capital." On the morning of the 18th, I visited the Jingdezhen China Porcelain Museum, located in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province. It is the only museum in China dedicated solely to porcelain. Jingdezhen, known as the "Porcelain Capital," has been a major center of porcelain production in China since the Han Dynasty. The museum was established to showcase Jingdezhen's long history of porcelain making and its rich porcelain culture. The museum building blends traditional and modern architectural styles. Its spacious exhibition halls are divided into several themed areas. The main exhibition areas include porcelain treasures from the Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, encompassing celadon, white porcelain, and blue and white porcelain, as well as the development and innovation of Jingdezhen porcelain in modern times. There are also exhibits introducing the porcelain-making process, including throwing, painting, and firing. Works by renowned porcelain artists from various periods are displayed, showcasing superb craftsmanship and artistic value. The museum houses a vast collection of precious porcelain pieces, such as Yuan blue and white, Ming Yongle blue and white, and Qing Kangxi five-color porcelain. Some of these are classified as national-level cultural relics. The Jingdezhen China Porcelain Museum is an excellent place to learn about Chinese porcelain culture.
