Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum

The Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum, a national first-class museum, also known as the Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum, is located at No. 1 Zijing North Road, Changjiang District, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province. Established after the founding of the People's Republic of China, it is the earliest museum with a rich collection of porcelain and the only professional ceramics art museum, holding a national first-class designation. Officially opened in January 1954, as of January 2019, the Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum houses and displays around 20,000 exquisite ceramic pieces produced in Jingdezhen during different historical periods since the Neolithic Age, including over 500 pieces designated as national precious cultural relics. The exhibition is divided into "Historical Section," "New China Section," and special exhibition halls. The former displays over 1,000 pieces of ancient porcelain in chronological order by dynasty; the latter displays over 1,500 ceramic treasures collected since the founding of the People's Republic of China, categorized by type. Included in the collection are celadon and white porcelain from the Five Dynasties period; Qingbai porcelain from the Song Dynasty; blue and white porcelain, egg-white porcelain, and underglaze red from the Yuan Dynasty; blue and white porcelain, five-color porcelain, doucai porcelain, and various colored glaze porcelain from the Ming Dynasty; and dozens of types of fine ceramics from the Qing Dynasty. Works from various modern ceramic factories, ceramic research institutes, and renowned ceramic artists are also included in the collection.
