Surrounded by picturesque mountains and waters, I woke up to the sound of birds chirping in the morning and fell asleep to the gentle murmur of flowing water at night – pure bliss! The architecture is a charming blend of ancient Chinese and Tujia styles, featuring white walls, grey tiles, small bridges, flowing water, and ancient trees. The landscaped gardens offer a picturesque view at every turn, like stepping into an ancient painting. 🛏️ Room Amenities: Comfort Meets Stunning Views The rooms are built along the mountainside, most of them facing the river valley. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows frame the lush green mountains and the clear blue river below, allowing you to enjoy the ink-wash scenery from the comfort of your bed. My room had a complete tea set and tea leaves, perfect for enjoying a relaxing afternoon while admiring the view. Some rooms also have smart speakers and projectors, adding convenience and entertainment to your stay. 💁‍♀️ Service Experience: A Warm and Welcoming Stay The staff were incredibly warm and attentive. They helped me upgrade my room upon check-in and provided detailed information about nearby attractions and things to note. They assisted with my luggage throughout my stay and responded promptly to any requests. They even brought delicious desserts every evening – such a thoughtful touch! The homestay offers 24-hour reception, luggage storage, free parking, and other basic services. There's also a cozy café, an outdoor self-service barbecue area, a yoga studio, and a separate tea room to cater to various leisure needs. 🍱 Dining: A Culinary Journey through Fanjingshan The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of Chinese dishes, including local specialties like rice noodles and steamed buns, as well as fresh fruit and porridge – a perfect start to an energetic day. The restaurant serves Guizhou private kitchen dishes made with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. You can also arrange for barbecues and hot pots, enjoying a unique dining experience amidst the beautiful scenery. 📍 Nearby Attractions: Exploring the Charms of Fanjingshan The homestay is less than ten kilometers from the entrance of the Fanjingshan scenic area, just a short drive away. There are also Dong villages and Yunshe Village nearby. You can hike up Fanjingshan to watch the sunrise and experience the local Tujia culture in Yunshe Village – a truly fulfilling itinerary. One minor drawback is that the homestay is located on a hillside, with several steps between rooms, making it slightly inconvenient to carry luggage. However, the staff are always happy to help, so it's not a major issue. Overall, Xingyi Lanyuetai Homestay offers a fantastic experience in terms of environment, rooms, service, and dining. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fanjingshan!
