I thought Dali was beautiful, until I went to Shaxi.

Shaxi Ancient Town is my favorite ancient town on this trip, and is also a filming location for the TV series Meet Yourself. It is only a 2-hour drive from Dali, and the carpool fare is CNY 80 per person. The ancient town is full of life: children play in the streets and alleys, and grandmothers with vegetable baskets on their backs shuttle among them. The locals are very enthusiastic. When I was buying rice noodles, they enthusiastically introduced me to the local delicacies. I accidentally found a particularly delicious freshly baked flower cake shop - "Dali Authentic Fire Baked Cake". The flower cake is CNY 5 each, and when it is freshly baked, it is hot, with a crispy crust and a mouthful of lard aroma, which is perfectly matched with the flower filling. It is the best flower cake I have tasted on this trip. In the afternoon, I went to San Yi Cafe, where the coffee is very delicious, and you can overlook the panoramic view of Shaxi Ancient Town. Sitting there quietly for an afternoon is very healing. When the sun sets, you can also enjoy the little ducks playing by the river, which is very warm.
