Many #Christians believe that the place where Jesus Christ was crucified as described in the New Testament is the foundation of the church and the location of Golgotha. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre has been a holy place protected by Christianity since its completion in the 4th century AD. However, six churches, including the Roman Catholic Church, the Greek Orthodox Church, the Armenian Church, the Syriac Orthodox Church, the Coptic Orthodox Church of Egypt and the Ethiopian Orthodox Theasidian Church, all believe that they have the right to manage the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Therefore, there are regular disputes and even serious physical conflicts between the sects. Therefore, the Ottoman Turkish ruler Ottoman III issued a royal decree in 1757 ordering all denominations in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to "maintain the status quo." After many destructions, reconstructions and expansions, the interior of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre has become more complex, but it has also added a lot of history that is worth understanding in depth.
