Hamdeok Beach

Hamdeok Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Jeju, is located about 20 km east of Jeju Airport (a 40-minute drive) in Jocheon-eup, Jeju City. Known for its emerald-colored sea, expansive white sandy shore, and shallow waters, it attracts numerous domestic and international tourists starting from early spring. Next to the entrance of the beach, a flea market is held, and in the evening, busking performances take place, making it a great nighttime destination in eastern Jeju. The area is surrounded by hotels, accommodations, restaurants, and cafes, making it a must-visit spot when traveling to Jeju. Hamdeok Beach is situated in Hamdeok-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju City, and can be easily accessed not only by rental cars or private vehicles but also by public transportation (Bus 101 from Jeju Airport) without the need for transfers. If you’re driving, you can park for free at the parking lot located on the southern road before reaching the Hamdeok Beach Comprehensive Management Center. If the parking lot is full, you can park along the roadside on the eastern road near the beach. Hamdeok Beach continues to showcase its stunning scenery. The emerald-colored beach, created by the sedimentary layers in the sea, and the white sandy shore formed by crushed seashells are undeniably beautiful. Additionally, the beach has a gentle slope of only about 5 degrees, meaning that even when entering the water, it only reaches waist-deep for an average adult male. This makes it ideal for swimming for people of all ages. During the official beach opening period, lifeguards are present, allowing visitors to enjoy their summer vacation more safely and comfortably.
