Rocky Mountain Water | Maligne Canyon.

I visited a friend in Edmonton in late July. After the visit, I suddenly had an idea: why not go back to Calgary from Jasper via Highway 93 through Banff? It would be a great way to enjoy the mountains and water along the way! So I set off. I left at around 6pm and stayed in Hinton for the night. The next morning, I went to Maligne Canyon. Entering Jasper National Park, I saw many dead pine forests, some of which were completely charred, as if they had been through a fire. However, the meadows under the dead forests were full of purple flowers, creating a strong visual contrast between the dead trees and the fresh flowers. I was reminded of the old saying "Heaven acts vigorously, Earth acts gently", and I couldn't help but marvel at the magical cycle of life and death in nature. There are quite a lot of wild animals in Jasper. Whenever I saw the car in front of me suddenly slow down for no apparent reason, it was usually because they had seen wild animals on the side of the road. I saw a large herd of elk and a sika deer, which was quite lucky. The poems "The deer cries out, eating wild apples" and "When the trees are deep, you see deer, and at noon by the stream, you hear no bells" immediately came to mind, which was quite beautiful. I didn't see any bears, and I didn't expect to see any, as they are quite dangerous. As I drove, my phone lost signal and the navigation stopped working. I had no choice but to follow the road signs. Fortunately, the road signs were very clear, and I easily found the parking lot at Maligne Canyon. It was before 9am, and there were plenty of parking spaces. I walked onto the first bridge and looked down. The ground was split open, revealing a huge chasm. The water roared inside the chasm, which was quite shocking. It felt like looking down from the natural stone bridge known as the "Number One Bridge in the World" in Zhangjiajie. Because I had booked the Jasper Skytram for 10:30am, I only walked across two or three bridges before leaving. However, this place left a deep impression on me, and I will definitely come back and explore it properly next time when I have more time. When I returned to Calgary, I heard that there was a mountain fire on the Jasper side and that Highway 93 was closed. Many tourists were evacuated to BC, and what should have been a few hours' drive turned into a journey of dozens of hours. I was both fortunate and amazed. The next day, I heard even worse news: Jasper town was on fire, and hotels and gas stations were being engulfed by the flames. Fortunately, the firefighters did their best, and I later heard that most of Jasper town was saved. To this day, the Malign Canyon Trail and Jasper Skytram are still closed, and I don't know when I will be able to come back. I suddenly felt a little emotional. Life is often like this. We are always in a hurry to get to the next destination, and even when we encounter beautiful things, we cannot fully immerse ourselves in them and appreciate them. We always think that we will have another chance, but the world is unpredictable, and we may not have another chance. Even if we do, if we still have the same mindset, it will just be a repeat of the previous journey. Suddenly, I felt that the phrase "enjoy the moment" is not so decadent. From a different perspective, it even feels very positive and optimistic.
