Hunyuan Ancient City is located in Hunyuan County, Datong City, Shanxi Province, at the foot of Mount Heng, and is an ancient city with a long history. Hunyuan Ancient City has a history of more than 2,300 years as a county and is the second batch of historical and cultural cities in Shanxi Province. The ancient city is rich in cultural relics and historic sites, with 3 national cultural relics protection units, 2 provincial cultural relics protection units, 3 county-level cultural relics protection units, 14 historical buildings, and 154 ancient houses. The existing city outline is generally octagonal turtle-shaped, with a clear layout.
