Born in Quanzhou, Fujian, the "Luoyang Bridge"!

In the morning, take the "Tourism Route 4" bus from Quanzhou Kaiyuan Shengshi Square, and after about 50 minutes, you will arrive at Luoyang Bridge (South Bridge) Station. Walk for another 600 meters, and you will arrive at the famous "Luoyang Bridge." Walking on Luoyang Bridge, you will see the bridge spanning the Luoyang River, ancient and majestic. Due to human intervention or the tides, there is no large water surface under the bridge, only endless mudflats and crisscrossing ditches. Luoyang Bridge was built during the Northern Song Dynasty (1059) and took nearly four years to complete. It is known as the "First Bridge in the World" and is one of the "Four Ancient Bridges of China" along with Lugou Bridge, Zhaozhou Bridge, and Guangji Bridge. The bridge is built of huge stone blocks, running in a "northeast-southwest" direction, relying on a small island in the river (called "Zhongzhou"), with a shorter southern section and a longer northern section. Luoyang Bridge has many affiliated cultural relics, with steles from various dynasties standing near the pavilion in the middle of the bridge, including Song Dynasty cliff carvings such as "Eternal Peace." There are two round stone statues of generals at each end of the bridge, and the bridge deck is protected by balustrades and railings. According to records, a long time ago, the Yue people lived in the Quanzhou area. Later, due to social unrest and frequent wars, many people from the Central Plains migrated south. Many people from the Henan, He River, and Luo River areas migrated to Quanzhou and southern Fujian. When they arrived in Quanzhou, they found that the mountains and rivers here were very similar to the ancient capital Luoyang, so they named this place "Luoyang," and the bridge was named after it. This bridge was born in Quanzhou and is named "Luoyang"! After walking from the south end of the bridge to the north end, the tour of Luoyang Bridge is over. Walk along Caixiang Road to Luoyang Avenue, take the "Tourism Route 4" bus again to return, and the whole journey takes 3 hours.
