When he arrived at Riyue Mountain, Princess Wencheng threw out the mirror and landed on two hills. The half of the east side faces the west, reflecting the afterglow of the setting sun. The half of the west side faces the east, according to the rising moon. Riyue Mountain is named after this. Today, two pavilions, the Japanese Pavilion and the Moon Pavilion, were built on the Sun and Moon Hill to commemorate this magical legend. This is the Japanese pavilion.
