Ji Xiaoshan Wenyu Tang in Chengkan Village at the foot of Huangshan, as a relatively new Ji Xiaoshan series hotel opened in 2022, is located in two Ming Dynasty ancient buildings, which should be the oldest site in all Ji Xiaoshan series. Coupled with the private collection of the hotel owner, staying in this ancient building hotel with only 8 guest rooms has become an experience like staying in a museum. The entire hotel is divided into a relatively public front desk, coffee shop and restaurant on one side of the Chinese and English streets in Chengkan Town, and 8 guest rooms, a small gallery and a small courtyard of the hotel on the other side. The public function area is a new building, and the courtyard with guest rooms is a Ming Dynasty ancient building carefully renovated by the designer. In the ancient building guest room area, you can see that the designer carefully and restrainedly added exquisite basic facilities that can meet the needs of modern life on the premise of respecting the ancient building foundation, such as switch power wiring, air conditioning, fire protection, toilets and drainage. Consideration, these are very indispensable but difficult to hide in an ancient building modern traces. It also includes the designer's choice of materials and sunshade forms, which are just right, modern traces are heavy but not noisy, not eye-catching. The custom-made furniture in the room is also very exquisite, especially a water bar cabinet that is as interesting as the interior plan. As a hotel with only eight guest rooms, the public area size of Ji Xiaoshan Wenyu Tang is very luxurious and exquisite. You can see the Buddha's hand citrus ornaments and carefully designed flower art everywhere, which is not out of place in the ancient building. The new building in the public area may be because it is too suppressed in the ancient building, the strength is a bit big, not as exciting as the ancient building area. Compared with the overly outgoing design, I still prefer the restrained and less decorative design ideas. But there are still many exquisite details, including custom window frame forms and drainage exposed on the exterior of the building. I stayed at Ji Xiaoshan Wenyu Tang for two days. The isolation of the small town in southern Anhui seemed to make life in Beijing unreal, and I immediately went back to face the number limit and shift.
