Chengkan, formerly known as Longxi, has always been hidden in the depths of southern Anhui, like a simple and elegant Jiangnan woman, simple but elegant, without unnecessary decoration, and no cumbersome sleeves. The first village in Jiangnan gives her just the right solemnity, gentleness and smartness. The two words Chengkan, according to the locals, Cheng is convex, and Kan is concave, so the slogan uses "Tour Chengkan, a life without Kan", meaning a lifetime without stumbling. "Kan" also has a deeper meaning-the ancestors of the Luo family named this village Chengkan, which is to tell the descendants to know how to live in "Kan", and to be safe and think about danger. "Entering Chengkan, a life without Kan", it expresses the world's love for Chengkan, and it is also a good wish for oneself. Chengkan is an ancient village in Huizhou with a long history and profound cultural accumulation. If Xidi and Hongcun retain the original appearance of the ancient villages in southern Anhui, then Chengkan has the fine buildings that Xidi and Hongcun do not have on the basis of retaining the original appearance. The Luo Dongshu Ancestral Hall and the Chengkan Ancient Building Group were announced by the State Council as national key cultural relics protection units. There are two national protections in one village, only in Tangyue Village and Chengkan Village in Huizhou. The most famous is Baolunge. The attic is named "Baolunge" because it collects the imperial edicts, yellow lists, and imperial edicts of all dynasties. It is said that in the 1960s, when the cultural relics department appraised the Luo Dongshu Ancestral Hall, they saw the colorful paintings and exquisite wood carvings of Baolunge, which were of great cultural relic value, so they reported the back hall as a provincial cultural relic protection unit. The staff mistakenly thought that "Baolunge" referred to the entire building, including the main hall and the two floors of the attic, so the name of Baolunge appeared on the provincial protection list. The full name of the Luo Dongshu Ancestral Hall is "Zhenjing Luo Dongshu Ancestral Hall", which was built by Luo Dongshu's descendants for his sacrifice. The Luo Dongshu Ancestral Hall is magnificent and shows the essence of Huizhou classical architecture. Luo Dongshu, named Rongzu, is a famous scholar in the late Song and early Yuan dynasties. The former Luo family genealogy records: "Since he was young and different, he was famous for his talents, his articles were famous in the world, he lived in seclusion for a long time, he was not an official in the Yuan Dynasty, he was only farming and reading, he was a happy hall, he was proud of his heart and spring stone, and he was a good character. His descendants respected him very much, and he was privately named "Zhenjing", and he was specially built for sacrifice. The Luo Dongshu Ancestral Hall can almost be the only one in the forest of Huizhou ancient ancestral halls. "Mountains surround the clear stream and water surrounds the city, and the paintings of white clouds and green mountains are difficult to achieve. There are wild colors hidden everywhere in the pavilions, and there are reading voices in every family." In the long river of history, Chengkan carries a strong bookish spirit, is magnificent, and has many talents. Chengkan was famous in the world as early as the Southern Song Dynasty, but it is still not showing up. In this small mountain village in the corner of Huizhou, although the building itself cannot speak, its unique tension attracts people's curiosity and exploration.
