Feimao Island is the perfect winter getaway.

I'd been wanting to visit Feimao Island for a long time, and finally made my dream come true over the New Year's weekend. If there's a place that's both a cat's paradise and a cat lover's paradise, it's definitely here. Key points [checklist]: Is winter ❄️ a good time to visit Feimao Island? This was the question I was most worried about before I went. The answer is yes, absolutely! Don't hesitate. Fewer people + more cats + more cuddly cats = the ultimate cat lover experience. As for the strong winds mentioned in some posts, check the weather forecast + remember to wear a hat. We went on a sunny🌞 day, so it didn't feel cold at all. Who is this place suitable for? ✅ Cat lovers who aren't afraid of cats rubbing against them, enjoy interacting with cats, and are charmed by their meows. Who is this place not suitable for? ⛔️ People who don't like/are afraid of cats. If you don't like interacting with cats, there's really no need to make the trip. 4️⃣ How are the cats doing? I think they are very comfortable, living the ideal cat life. Every one of them is plump, though they might need to lose a little weight. 5️⃣ What is there to do? There are cats on all three islands (hence the name "Three Islands Adventure"). The basic tour route is to follow the signs and visit all three islands. There are many fun and beautiful spots to check in along the way. My favorite thing to do is to meow at a scenic spot, and cats will come running from all directions to cuddle. Nothing in the world provides more emotional value than cats. 6️⃣ Transportation: Drive/rent a car/hire a car to the Huai'an Baima Lake Three Islands Adventure pier, then buy a ticket to the island. There is no public transportation to the pier, which is a major drawback. 7️⃣ Cost 💰: Buy ferry tickets at the pier, round trip is 88/person, discounted tickets are 66. This includes round-trip ferry tickets and island entrance fees, but does not include cat treats/snacks. We bought some extra cat treats and snacks after arriving on the island (5 yuan per pack/treat) to bribe the furry overlords, but this is voluntary, not mandatory. You are not allowed to bring your own cat food to the island. One reason is that the cats might not be used to it and could get sick. The other reason is that selling cat food is one of the island's sources of income (I'm guessing). However, the price is not expensive, and considering they provide such an environment for stray cats, it's worth it. Everyone knows that people love cats, but they often forget that cats love people too. Winter is the off-season, with fewer tourists, so the cats cherish human interaction even more. I remember squatting down to take a picture, and four cats immediately surrounded me, not for food, but just to stay close and feel my body heat. They then licked their fur, stared into space, and dozed off. There are walkways connecting the islands. When you leave one island, cats will see you off, and when you approach the next island, cats will run up to greet you. Here, you can break off a reed and use it as a cat teaser, herding cats like a shepherd. You can observe cats drinking lake water on the shore. When you leave the island, cats will even chase you to the pier to say goodbye. Standing on the departing ferry, with the sunset glow in front and the figures of kittens behind, the already wonderful journey becomes even more touching. 🏠 Accommodation Huai'an is worth visiting. It has a rich cultural heritage and many famous people. It's suitable for a one- to three-day trip, and the attractions are not far apart. I recommend staying at the GreenTree Inn Shenzhen East Road High-speed Railway Station West Amusement Park, which is conveniently located in the middle of all the attractions. It's easy to get to any attraction from there.
